Recyclability of polyolefin-based flexible packaging is critical for the development of the circular economy. CEFLEX guidelines (D4ACE) facilitates this move with a target date for 2025.
PCJ is able to offer in conjunction with manufacturing partners 'Designed for recyclability' today polyolefin-based primary and secondary flexible packaging structures: mono-PE, mono-PP and mixed polyolefin structures.
PCJ can also source biodegradable and compostable material. Currently in the UK most of these materials can only be composted industrially and are not suitable for home composting. These materials, even at low levels, are expected to cause disruption to recycling streams so unless proper facilities exist these will have to follow the general waste route.
